Matt Hurst
Hello, Clarksville Johnson County Chamber of Commerce Members. For those of you that I have not had the opportunity to meet, my name is Matt Hurst. I am an Executive Broker with Century 21 Glover Town and Country and have been a Realtor in Johnson County for 20 years. I also am the owner of The Barn at Sleepy Hollow in Clarksville.
Over the years I have had the opportunity to remodel and flip over 50 properties. My most recent project was the Home Show Case Building. I am currently working on a downtown project to serve our community.
In my spare time, I enjoy canoeing the Mulberry River w/ friends or hiking the Ozark Mountains w/ my 10-year-old son Asher.
I love my community and would like to ask for your support to serve you on the Clarksville - Johnson County Chamber Board of Directors.

Brad Kent
My name is Brad Kent. I am currently entering my fourth year as Superintendent for the Westside School District. I spent one year as the high school principal before moving into my current role. Prior to coming to Westside, I was an Assistant Principal and Director of Security for the Russellville School District. I also hold the title of Chief of Police for the city of Coal Hil. I have been a law enforcement officer for 13 years.
Some of my strengths that I feel would benefit the Chamber are my ability to multitask, manage others through leading by example, and my work ethic. I am methodical in my thinking and making decisions, but am also able to make a "quick" decision, when necessary. My strongest characteristic or quality that I would bring to the Chamber would be my dedication to the community I serve. This area has always been very important to me. The main driving factor in leaving the Russellville School District was that I wanted to be able to make a difference in the education where I live.
I am married to Casey Burke Kent and we have two boys, Tucker (13), and Greyson (9). Casey worked for the Johnson County Library for over 20 years before I stole her to teach special education at Westside and both of our boys attend Westside. This area is not only very important to me, but also to my family.

Monica LAra
My name is Monica Lara. I’ve been married to my husband for 17 years. We have 5 children. We’ve been residents of Lamar since 2010. I am an active member of Holy Redeemer Church where I have volunteered as a Sunday school teacher for 2nd grade for the past 7 years. I also served as President of our Parish Council. I’ve been in the manufacturing industry for over 18 years working as the Office Manager for Coast to Coast Carports in Knoxville where I oversee roughly 100 employees. I’ve been involved in Adopt-a-mile, Relay for Life, Toys for Tots. I volunteer helping with Lamar sports because my children are actively involved in numerous sports.
I feel like I can bring a different perspective involving the Latin population in our community. My children range from ages 4-21 and I’d like to be involved in the growth of our community. I’d like to see more business involvement in our community & local events.

Nola Newton
First, thank you for the opportunity to be considered for the Clarksville Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.
am married to my husband, Glenn, for almost 34 years, and we have twin girls who are 28. It seems like yesterday that we moved here to pastor the New Hope Church, many things have changed over the years, but my commitment to the success of our community is still a top priority to me.
I am currently the Clinical Assessment Coordinator, for Senior Care at Johnson Regional Medical Center. My other duties include a social worker and Community Education Manager. All these positions offer me the privilege of working with our community’s geriatric community from a mental health standpoint.
There are many other positions that I have held here over the years. Some of those were: Caseworker for Division of Children and Family Services, Coordinator for the Johnson County Welfare to Work Grant, Founder and Director of Next Generation Daycare and Preschool, Founder and Administrator for Westside Schools after school and summer programs, Director of Counseling and Evaluation at Arkansas Career and Training Institute, Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor, and Therapist.
I am currently involved and hold the following positions: the president of the Johnson County Resource Alliance, on the board of directors for the Pregnancy Help Center, ambassador for the Clarksville Chamber, member of Junior Auxiliary.
My educational background is: Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Arkansas Tech University, Masters in Counseling from UALR, and a license in Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling.
I believe that I have many skills and assets to bring to the Chamber Board. These would include the following: I am energetic, passionate, have good judgment and decision-making skills. Most importantly, I am honest and hardworking and would be a good advocate for our community.
Again, thank you for your consideration, Nola Newton

I love Clarksville and Johnson County and have ever since I moved here. The people, the community, surrounding areas, all of it. I think our community has a lot to offer, and I want to be a part of it. I believe in service, and to me this is an opportunity to serve a community that means and has done a lot for me. To help make a difference and help make our community a better place. I also believe in what the Chamber does - from resources, education, opportunities available to help businesses, to community events, and just the overall goal of advancing the interests of Johnson County. All of this is important to me, and at this stage in my life, having a family with two young kids just makes it even more so.
