My name is Taylor Cogan, and I am a licensed funeral director in the state of Arkansas. After reading literature on almost all funeral websites, including ours, I thought that there had to be a better way to help people process grief. I was introduced to The Grief Recovery Method to help with my own grief and at first, I was hesitant, but I bought the book and it just made sense, our hearts are broken and not our heads; we cannot look at en emotional problem using intellectual methods.
When I decided to become a Certified Grief Recovery Specialist, I was exposed to a new idea of what grief is and how we as individuals process it in our unique ways. I can honestly say that this program has helped me unpack events that have caused me grief.
The Grief Recovery Method has also allowed me to provide myself as well as others with a road map to completing their own grief, but I don't want people to feel like they are alone, so every session I travel by their side and unpack my own grief as well by helping people find new tool for true grief recovery. This program can be used in conjunction with other therapies or you might already be receiving.
The programs that I offer are one on one sessions or group sessions. I also offer groups on pet loss and for parents with children who are experiencing grief. If you have any questions about what these sessions entail, please do not hesitate to contact me. It is important to note that more honest and open you are with the work that we do, the more return on your investment you will get. There will be readings and homework, but I will be doing this right by your side. I am on this journey with you because grief is an ongoing journey. But please don't be afraid, not only am I here for you but so is the entire Grief Recovery Method community. Everyone is welcome to this safe place to explore their grief, no grief is "too small" or "too large." A few examples of grief are death of a pet or loved one, moving starting a new school, marriage, divorce, graduation, end of graduation, end of addiction, major health changes, retirement, financial changes positive or negative, holidays, legal problems, empty nest, and anything else that has caused a change in our pattern in life.
One last important note each session we will be making three commitments, no matter which session in which you are participating. They are:

One last important note each session we will be making three commitments, no matter which session in which you are participating. They are:
- Total Honesty - You can only achieve emotional completion by telling the truth. For the first few sessions, we'll tell you that there may be details of your life that you're unwilling to say to others. That's okay. Just tell the emotional truth about the event or experience. If you have difficult with a safe way to say something, please ask me.
- Absolute Confidentiality - Anything of a personal nature that is said in the program will be kept confidential. The safety of this program and the safety of you recovery, depend upon adherence to the principle of confidentiality.
- Uniqueness and Individuality - Every relationship is unique. No one else's opinion about our relationships with the people who have affected our lives is solicited or helpful. Again, the safety of your individual recovery hinges on you being able to share you own thoughts and feelings with respect and dignity, without interruption, analysis, criticism, or judgement. Moreover, no saying sorry for our feelings!
